Watch more TV online?

February 6th, 2010 by brad

I’m sure everyone has heard of hulu.com by now, I use it frequently and even stream it to my PS3 using Playon. But I found another site – TV Gorge – that has even more shows, although I can’t figure out how it’s legit.

Of course there are all of the normal sites that have great poker information, like two plus two and cardplayer, but more recently I have found a few sites that are useful for different reasons:

Travel websites

August 18th, 2008 by brad

Kiplinger had an article on the best travel websites across categories.  I generally use the big ones – Travelocity.com, Expedia.com and Orbitz.com.  But there are many more.

  • Kayak.com for the best airfares, domestic and international.
  • Airefarewatchdog.com is like Kayak, but wil keep an eye on the discount carriers that Kayak doesn’t include.
  • Farecast.com helps with predictability in airfare changes – if your dates are flexible check out this site.
  • Lastminute.com has great deals if you are looking for a last minute weekend (or bigger) getaway.
  • Bedandbreakfast.com – you guess it, B&B reviews.
  • Tripadvisor.com is a great one I’ve used often for reviews from real travelers.
  • TravelGuard.com can help you get insured for your big trip.
  • CruiseMates.com provides reviews and ideas for cruises and ports.

See the Universe

April 20th, 2008 by brad

Do you use Google Maps?  How about Google Earth?  It’s fun and interesting to see landmarks around the globe from space.  But now you can take an astronomical view, looking into space – see stars, galaxies and more as Google has released Google Sky.

Top 25 Blogs

April 20th, 2008 by brad

Time had an article on the top 25 blogs.  It highlighted blogs across categories, from humor to investing to politics.  A couple of new ones for me, but several I was familiar with and had been reading for a while.  Take a look and find some new material.

Public Law Library

February 16th, 2008 by brad

I read a post recently (I can’t remember where, but it might be from Lifehacker) about a new site that provides access to lots of legal forms, forums and related information.  They consolidated legal information from a bunch of different sites, including sites specific to states and niche areas.  Check out The Public Library of Law.
