Some friends at work showed me two new sites that perform a network analysis of sorts on books, music and movies (as well as other items).  They create a visualization of relationships between similar items. One uses flash, the other one java, but both are quite cool. Check them out.

Recently I came across this site (can’t remember how I came upon it) that had text, audio and video of famous speeches. This includes speeches from Abraham Lincoln, but also includes speeches from movies like Gordon Gecko’s “Greed” speech from Wall Street. Pretty nice.

An interesting post in The Finance Journey about a site called InsideRedBox that posts codes to use to get free rentals at your nearest RedBox machine. Renting from a RedBox is only $1/night – much cheaper than Blockbuster. It’s a great deal and I have used it, with the only problem being the limited selection. But if you are looking for a new release, it should have what you are looking for. Plus, you can log on to their website and reserve a copy there.
