Lifehacker had a good post today about Suprise.com – a website that provided recommendations for gift giving based on personality traits. I haven’t gone through all of the sections yet, but it’s at the very least a good start – I sure never know what to buy anyone. The list of hobbies and traits is very long, so you’re bound to find something.
Do you think internships are just for college students? They aren’t. If you are thinking about changing careers, but aren’t sure you’ll like your next choice, why not give it a test drive? Check out a site called Vocation Vacations. The site has hundreds of vacations where you can try out another career and see how it takes, from boot maker to TV producer.
I read a blog post recently on a website called Work.com. It’s basic function is that of a blog, but it has over one thousand how-to guides on many different topics for small businesses and entrepreneurs. This includes everything from government basics to advertising to employee management.
Well, he has always been one of my favorite radio hosts, and now he is back on Washington Post Radio (1500AM). If you can’t catch him between 8:30 and 10:30, you can listen to his entire show through a stream on their website or by downloading the podcast.

Programmable Web had an interesting site posted that showed a geographical representation of college football recruiting. You can quickly see where your team and/or conference recruits from on a Google Map. Pretty slick.
Great new music video by Bare Naked Ladies. Very original, they took some characters from famous youtube.com videos and had them sing their song. Well, lip-sync it anyway.
You’ll soon realize I like the work of the two gentlemen who wrote Freakonomics. I have a link to their blog on my site and I’m certain I’ll post many comments from it. In this post, Steven Levitt talks about betting on home underdogs in the NFL. An interesting read. He also refers back to a paper he talks about a paradox in sports betting, which is also an interesting read despite its age (2004).
